New Job

I started my new part-time job this morning. It will in no way make up for what I was earning before but a job is a job. I am happy to have it. My new hours are 4am -8am a few mornings a week. Do you know how hard it is to wake up at 3am? I do now, hopefully it will get easier.

Happy Birthday Evan!

Well, Evan turned four years old today. I can hardly believe it. I think that he had a really good time at his small birthday party.

Here is Emma holding "baby Jenna", a sight we were all very familiar with by the end of the party. She loves "baby Jenna" and I think the feeling is mutual.

Special event at CreeksideMarch 13, 2009 -->
Creekside Elementary School in Elgin hosted its first Culminating Event for the Special Olympics Young Athletes program involving children ages 2 to 7 years. This is the first year that School District U46 and Creekside Elementary have participated in the Young Athletes program.

Evan, his teacher, and a volunteer walking into the games. Let the fun begin......

Evan's second event was pushing and rolling on a big ball. He is aided by Coach Laura, Emma and Cousin Josh. What a great team!

Evan working the obsticle course with Emma close on his heals. The photographer in the fore ground took many great pictures of the dynamic duo and one picture of Evan even made it into the paper.

Evan getting his award from Coach Laura. Unfortunately, mom's camera was on zoom but I love the eye contact and how sweet his face is. A fun time was had by all.

Emma's Spring Sing

Emma's first grade sing was Monday night. The theme was Disney. She and her friends had so much fun. Emma is 7 from the right on the top row. The pictures are not very good but she wanted this mentioned.

Evan sat and enjoyed the show. He was totally absorbed by the music. Go Emma.

Sharing a snack

Sugar is a favorite snack in this house. It makes the kids very happy. Devan, the Airdale ate Emma's Valentines Day snack so Evan happily shared his.

Not the best day

Well, today I got laid off, kind-of. They are keeping me on an as-needed/project basis. I am grateful that they think highly of me to be willing to consider that option. I hope that they need me sooner rather than later. I have already gone to Target and applied for an early morning (4am - 11am) stockroom position. Unfortunately, my schedule needs to work around Doug's second shift job so early mornings it is.

I am so afraid that we will have to stop Evan's music therapy that has made such huge gains for him. I know everything happens for a reason and that God will provide for us. He always has.

I will keep you posted....Sue
